This investigation aimed to explore the recent population of individual in Florida who sought treatment for opioid dependence through medication-assisted treatment programs. The demographics of the population, individual's length of contact, treatment setting, and the presence of any documented co-occuring mental health disorders were evaluated. The relationship between service engagement and criminal justice involvement was also investigated. In this initial, largely descriptive analysis, many indicators of the changing face of the population and the complexity of the issues they present were revealed. These finding will serve as a springboard for more in-depth analysis to be conducted in the future years of the project.
