Out-of-Home Sub-Study 3 Family Involvement in Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Programs (SIPP): Travel Time, Visits, and Outcomes
Publication Date: June 2014
Description:
The current study was conducted to further investigate findings from a previous study by researchers examining family involvement in Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Programs (SIPPs). Rohrer and colleagues (2012) found that youths experiencing more in-person, non-therapeutic, family campus visits had worsening externalizing behaviors as measured by the difference in Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) scores from admission to discharge compared to youths with fewer family campus visits - a finding that is counterintuitive to the literature.
