The Transition Years: What Happens to Adolescents on Medicaid Who Use Mental Health Services: A Preliminary Report
Publication Date: 6/1/2000
Description:
This report provides findings from a preliminary analysis of changes in Medicaid mental health serve use among adolescents during the transition year of 15 to 23. Studies have shown that these years are particularly challenging for youth in the general population as they transition from a place of dependence on family and community services to one of independence. For those with a mental disorder, the transition is even greater and poised with many obstacles that result from changes in access to necessary services.
