This two-and-a-half hour session is designed for mental health professionals who interview children. Issues of childrens memory, suggestibility, and truthfulness have repeatedly been raised in the courtroom. Furthermore, within the forensic setting mental health evaluators of child sexual abuse have been discredited because of the method and structure of their evaluation. Workshop topics will include: developmental factors related to childrens memory and the design of interviews that will hold up under legal scrutiny. A training manual will be provided to participants.

- Skills that will increase the accuracy of childrens narration of remembered events
- A legally defensible structure in interviewing the alleged sexually abused child
