Baker Act Reporting Center

 

In collaboration with Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), the Baker Act Reporting Center has received statewide data on involuntary civil commitments of the mentally ill or Baker Act examinations since 1997. The Baker Act Reporting Center currently has records for over a half million civil commitment examinations. The Center produces an annual report for the Agency for Health Care Administration and other reports for the state legislature, treatment providers, and researchers.

HIV Center The University of South Florida Center for HIV Education and Research is located within USF's Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute. The Center serves health care professionals throughout Florida by providing education and information on the transmission, control, treatment, and prevention of HIV and AIDS and by conducting related research and community outreach.

Medicaid Drug Therapy Management

 

In 2005, the Florida Legislature authorized the implementation of the “Medicaid Drug Therapy Management Program for Behavioral Health (MDTMP),” a program whose goal is to work collaboratively with prescribers in the Medicaid program to improve the quality and efficiency of the prescribing of mental health drugs, and to improve the health outcomes of Medicaid beneficiaries with a mental illness.

Florida Tac The Florida legislature designated the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute (FMHI), as a site for the Criminal Justice, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse Technical Assistance Center. The Florida Mental Health Institute is a research and training center within the University of South Florida with a long history of collaborative relationships with state and local government.

PDRC The Policy and Services Research Data Center (PSRDC), directed by Charles Dion, M.A., informs public policy and program development through the timely compilation, integration, and analysis of administrative and other data, and strives to be a leader in management, organization and dissemination of information on health and mental health issues.

The Training Consortium at the University of South Florida provides quality support to Human Services Professionals across Florida and the nation.

Support services include child welfare trainer preparation and certification, child welfare pre-service training, professional development, in-service training, curriculum design and development consultation, and technical assistance.
