Project Area

Research topics in the Community Behavioral Health area address a range of conditions, community-based interventions, and outcomes for persons with serious mental health disorders. Studies use community-based program research and archival data analysis to focus on such topics as homelessness; trauma and its sequelae; cross-system issues, including involvement of persons with severe mental disorders in the criminal justice system; implementation and fidelity of evidence-based practices; and intervention practices and impacts. Specific program and practice areas have included assertive community treatment; trauma-specific and trauma-informed care, supportive employment and housing; interventions for individuals involved in multiple service systems; psychopharmacological practices; consumer-operated services and self-directed care; and other interventions for psychosocial treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery.
