Biography     

 

Airia Papadopoulos is an Assistant in Research in the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy. She received her B.A. degree from University of California at Berkeley and her Master of Public Health from the University of South Florida, where she is currently studying for a Ph.D. in Applied Anthropology.

Airia coordinates the Medicaid Behavioral Health Studies contract funded by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). With the Principal Investigator, Roger Boothroyd, she coordinates the review and submission of contract deliverables while working with the financial team to ensure compliance with federal and university regulations. Her interests include racial disparities in mental health with a particular interest in diagnosis and treatment of depression among African Americans, and also the connection between depression and obesity among adolescents.
