Bruce A. Bryant came to the Florida Mental Health Institute (Institute) in August 2002 as an Instructional Specialist specializing in the training of Child Welfare Professionals. Prior to his arrival at USF he worked for the Department of Children and Families for 21 years where he served as a Child Protection Case Manager, Child Protection Supervisor, Trainer, Contract Manager, Ombudsman, Program Manager and Program Administrator.
Mr. Bryant currently serves as Director of Operations for the Child Welfare Training Academy at the Institute. He oversees day to day operations, manages all training activities and is the primary contact for Department of Children and Families headquarters and circuit staff, as well as Community Base Care providers and Sheriff Offices statewide. Mr. Bryant has also served the Institute as a Training Team Supervisor and Certified Child Welfare Trainer. Child Welfare Pre-service and In-service Training subject areas included Introduction to Child Protection, Legal Overview, Assessment and Case Planning, Ongoing Assessment and Services, Adoptions and Related Services, Supervisor Effectiveness and Cultural Diversity.
Mr. Bryant earned a Bachelors Degree in Political Science form the University of South Florida in 1980.
